The first Training School of YEAST4BIO COST Action took place from 13th to 17th of September. It was a Basic course on fermentation technology for production of high-value chemicals from sugar platform by non-conventional yeast. The course took place at the Fermentation core in the Technical University of Denmark, within the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine, and combined morning and afternoon sessions alternating theoretical lectures with hands-on laboratory work in the fermentation labs.
Up to 14 enthusiastic researchers (43% male and 57% female) from 11 different countries (64% from ITC) joined the course. In the participants, lectures and organizers opinion the training school it was a was a big success and a rewarding experience for all the participants.
